Saturday Night / Board BA

Greetings!

Tomorrow night I will board BA on the way home, hope to see you when I am home. My Toshiba laptop died so I am using Noah's now. I will have to purchase a new one when I get home.

All is well; I am healthy and ready to have Christmas at home.

Got to go for now as Noah and Sagal Michael needs to leave for Mbale, they will pick up the gas canister, and some food stuffs, and stay overnight. They will then go to Moroto on Saturday.

Lord willing I will be in San Antonio aboard AA at 6: pm Sunday the 11th.

Blessings,
Bill

IN THE BEGINNING GOD--- DECEMBER 7, 2011AD, 70 YEARS OAHU---

O God, Moses has told us of meeting You at a burning bush, and that You created the heavens and the earth. You God spoke to him about going to Egypt, so Pharaoh, would let Your people go. Moses asked You God, what your name was, in case Your people asked. How would knowing Your name reveal that You sent Moses to them? O God, You told Moses Your name was,

"I AM WHO I AM".

"O God, what are You? O God, Who are You? Please God, what is the meaning of Your name?"

"I AM WHO I AM." "I AM God, the LORD, the Omnipotent, the Omniscient, Omnipresent One, from everlasting to everlasting."

"I AM, your Maker, and your Creator O man, in My image."

"I AM, the Word; in Me is life, and the life is your light, O man."

"I AM, the Christ, your Redeemer, Ransom, and Savior."

"I AM, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world."

"I AM Good." No one is good but One, that is, God, I AM"

"I AM light, that you may know Me, and My Holy Love."

"I AM able to be, and do everything I will; I am willing to be what I abhor, to die that you may exist and live, O man."

"I AM thought; I have called you O man my thought, to have physical, existence, and I AM, dwells in you; I AM your life."

"I AM Love, the Spirit, the wind, the Word, the still small Voice, that calls you, O man, My thought, into living existence."

"O man, you have done none of this, nor are you worthy of any of it! I AM alone Worthy, and you are to worship Me, I AM."

O my LORD, my God, my Father, O Jesus, I bow to You I AM. Alleluia--

Doug (Dough Ughandan name)

Greetings!

I came to Kampala on Saturday to have meetings with several people. I boarded the bus at 10:30 PM Friday, (The bus left at 11:25 PM) We passed the Kampala Signpost at 12: Noon, and got off the bus at about 2:PM. The jam (traffic jam) was almost like a parking lot. I think that is the best time ever for using the bus. Thank you Lord.

My first meeting was with Ezra our architect. He brought me the final rendition of the Church building plans. He will have the blue prints to me, ready to submit to the authorities, by Friday, Then after we receive approval, the engineer will give us a completed price for the foundation of the church. We have decided to do the building in two phases. That way we can see how good, and how close he follows the blue prints before we start the building. We will start making the bricks for the building before I leave on 11 December. Noah will be supervising that project.

My second meeting was with Charles, the owner of the building we will be shifting (moving) to. We love the building we are now in. The only problem is there is no consistency as far as the owner is concerned. We have a good, signed contract for 600,000 shillings per month. He insisted that the price be raised to 1,000,000 shillings, which I could understand because of the inflation here in UG. Then he wanted three months' rent in advance again so he could repair the veranda around the building, it's OK, except he never did the work, he eat the money.(spent) We are continually having more problems, because his first wife lives in a small building on the property and is continually causing problems with us, and with her husband. She and her daughter continually beat the children. The night I left for Kampala, the daughter beat on one of the boys on the head and face for over five min. until he broke free and ran into our house with her in pursuit. In the end I had to tell her I was going to call the police, and even then it didn't stop. It not only upset Noah and myself, but really upset Sagal and Joseph. I do believe in punishment when needed, but not like that. Well, we will be paying about 245,000 more at the new place, but the owner will be completely refurbishing the property, put a chain link fence around the property. We will have a larger building, so we can take care of more visitors at a time, have a good size garden, He will be putting up large rain collection tank as well as bringing in city water to the property, and we will have a garage for the car or pickup we hope to have in the near future. The total cost will be $500.00 US per month, 1,250,000 shillings at the present rate of exchange.

I am now waiting for Ezra to come and give me his design program so I can have an easier way of designing the buildings we need. I will then send my plan to him and he will complete the construction plan so it can be submitted to the authorities for approval.

I will also be meeting with a Ugandan pastor from Chicago, who wants to partner with us. Rupa Christian Fellowship has acquired quite a reputation for changing lives in Karamoja, all praise to our Mighty God who is control of everything we do.

Prayer Requests:

  • That I will be able to complete our move before I leave for the states.

  • I will be able to have everything ready to go by the 5th of December when I have more meetings in Kampala, then home for Christmas.

  • Pray all of us, Noah (my executive assistant) Sagal Michael, my Mathaniko son, Joseph, and one more person (X) we are hoping to put on staff, that can assist as the program continues to grow and prosper.

  • Pray for the landlord, his children, and his wives, that they take better care of their children.

  • Wisdom, Foresight, and Insight for Noah, and myself as we as we forge ahead doing the work that the Lord has mandated.

Church Under A Tree

00

Greetings!

We left Kampala Friday night, went to catch the 5PM Elgin Flyer to Mbale, it was full so we had to wait until the 6PM bus came at 7;20 PM. It was late because of the jam (traffic).

We left Kampala about 7:40 or so, arrived in Mbale around 11:PM. Got a good shower and went to bed. I am usually up by 5:30 or so, well Sagal woke me at 7AM saying dad we must catch the bus to Moroto. We had our complimentary breakfast, fruit, bread, tea, and Spanish omelet. It was good. I then took a boarder border to Shell to fill our gas cylinder for cooking. (105,000 shillings, about $80.00) it will last about 25 to 30 days. Then we went to pick up sugar, 20 kl cost us 5,500 shillings each, in Moroto it is between 6,500 and 7,000 shillings each.) Then ran and caught the Tesso bus just as they were leaving. God is so good, there were only seats in the very back of the bus. Bump, bump, bump. I am so glad that I have a mighty God, He made sure that inspector Robert (a friend) was on the bus, when He saw Sagal and myself in back he called me up to the front and gave me the conductors seat, and gave Sagal a seat near the middle of the bus. By the time we were about an hour into the ride, Sagal was sitting across the aisle from me. We serve a mighty God who deserves all the praise and honor we can give him. About two hours or so into the trip we came to a hill that was solid mud with a high center in the road, and the bus slid into the ditch. God sure has ways of telling children about Jesus, Sagal had a small wire toy that attracted the children. I suggested to Sagal that he practice his Sunday school lesson on the children. (Sagal teaches Sunday school at Rupa Christian Fellowship). He had the children spellbound for a good 45 minutes.

Sagal Teaching

Could it be that was why we got stuck in the mud? That some child would hear about Jesus?

About 30 min. later the bus was able to move again. We got to Moroto about 11:45. We should have been home no later than 4:30- 5:PM.

Sunday morning came very fast. I was up by 6 and stated breakfast, porage, tea, and bread. It looked like it was going to storm so we called to Rupa to find out how the roads were; thankfully the network was working, We left for Rupa about 8:30, getting there about a little after nine. Oh what a blessing to see and hear our members tell of the victory's they have had. Paul, the LC1 of Lokorete, told of how he and one other had prayed for a sick child, and the Lord healed him. After the service was over we had Paul lead in prayer for maybe 15 or so that needed healing. We also received a report that a few of the elders had attended a meeting where food and other things were passed out; they sat back and waited while everyone else pushed to receive theirs. Those that were handing the items out came and asked where they were from because they never seen such good behavior before in Rupa sub-county. We are from Rupa Christian Fellowship. They were told to sit tight and the items were brought to them. God is doing a mighty work in His church in Rupa. This is a little longer then I wanted, sorry.

Blessings,
Bill

Good News

Yesterday we received authorization medicine (we pick it up today) from the ministry so that we can again start the Mobil medical clinic Sat.. I believe that we will also have two of the medical staff and a Dr. to help us. Pray that we can find someone that has a car of pick-up for transport for us to use, that way we won't have to use bikes. We would need between five and seven bikes at 20,000 shillings each to go to both areas.

23 1/2 Hours!

The Widow's Mite

Good News!

I just finished speaking with Ezra our Archatect He is doing the drawings for the church pro-bono.

Praise God.

Please pray for him, he tells us that the plans will be ready on Tuesday evening.

TumTum (candy) on Bill's birthday

Greetings!

A lot has been happening here in Karamoja. As you know the Church has been praying that the rains do not stop, just space out so that the weather might change back to tropical rather then desert. Normally the rains stop around the end of October, the first of September. The rains are still coming fast and furious. Noah told me this morning when I called (I am now in Kampala on business).

That is right, 23 1/2 hours. That is how long we were on the bus coming to Kampala. We got on at PM Tuesday night, so we could get a seat, the bus left at midnight. About an hour into the trip we stopped because the bus in front of us stopped. We sat there until the sky brightened up and found out that a truck had stopped because they thought they would get stuck in the mud, and were sleeping under the truck. There was no problem with the road and they got out of the way. The bus in front of us took off and we sat there because the engine was overheating. We sat there maybe two hours while they looked for water and get the temp down on the motor. In the end, we should have been to Sorote by 4:30 AM, we got there about 2:30 PM. We changed bus lines and came to Kampala, got here about 7:30 PM. Wednesday 23 1/2 hours after we boarded the bus in Moroto.

Blessing,

Bill

We head home this afternoon. we will take Elgin Flyer (a good bus) to Mbale and stay overnight, pick up our butaine canister (filled) and head home Sat. morning so Sagal can teach Sunday School to the children ages 3 through maybe15 or 16. Please pray for Sagal as he is now about 12 years old.

Blessings!
Bill

Yesterday's Up-Date Continued

Thoughts From Bill

Have you thought about what is going to happen in the future? The Bible is filled with the information you are looking for. Take for instance, Ezekiel 38 and 39. It told of the new state of Israel, and many of the things that have been happening in the Far East. If you just look at things that are happening politically or economically and don't look at the third window of information, the word of God, you will only deceive yourself.

Joel C Rosenburg has researched many of the prophesies of the Bible and has written a book called Epicenter 2.0: Why the current Rumblings in the Middle East will change your future.

Joel has also written several fiction books using the prophecies of the bible. Many of the things he has written have come true. He does not claim to be a prophet

While I was writing the email information (while in Moroto) I looked outside and saw two little boys going into a Maze (corn) field taking dry maze stakes, pealing off the dry outside and eating the heart of the maze. There is still a lot of hunger in Karamoja. It breaks my heart. Please Pray.

Take Action!

About six weeks ago we had a group of young men from Kampala come to evangelize. They spent about half of the time in Moroto. During the day they went hut to hut telling of the amazing grace of God. In the evening they would show the Jesus film.

The last three days they went to several of our villages in Rupa. Because of their witnessing Rupa Christian Fellowship has grown maybe twenty five to thirty folks.

Please lift them in prayer, they left for another part of Uganda this morning.

Time To Catch Up

Greetings!

I feel a release from the Lord to start the church building project even though I do not see the finances at this point. This is how the entire program has been run, by faith. That is how I feel the Lord wants us to do it TODAY. That way He, the Lord, gets all the Glory with a capitol "G" and not us.

Saturday morning October 3rd .I was at the site at 07:00, none of the workers were there, they started showing up at 07:30. They said they would start at 07:00. I then challenged them saying I came 6 times as far and was here at 07:01. Then I said I would foot (walk) to the site in the morning, and if they are not all there when I get there, they would have to carry me back home in the evening. They said NO! NO! You take a border border and we will be on time. They have been on time and early sometimes also. We started clearing the land for the church building and the forest that will be on three sides of the church.

Today, Wednesday, we completed the clearing and will be planting approximately 400 trees, this could take a few days. There are two reasons for planting the trees; first, it will help Rupa back into a tropical type of weather pattern as it was before, rather than the 8 to 10 months of arid weather we now experience. (The people have been cutting the trees for firewood and to make charcoal.) Second, the trees will act as a wind break and some shade for the church.

Thursday we will be extending the clearing toward the back about twenty feet for more breathing room, and planting the trees across the back. We will have another group go to gather large stones for the foundation. (So far we have three truckloads, and need another 18 to 20 loads.

To start with, the building will be open in the front and the two sides, this way we can extend it on the sides, making it possible to hold twice as many folks for Sunday services and for other functions. When the church elders decide that they would like to put walls up we will. In the back of the building there will be three rooms, two 10' x 12' and one 20' x 12'. These rooms will be for storage and meetings. If and when we extend the sides, we will also add rooms the size of the extensions. The building size will be 40' x 80' with possible side extensions making it up to 80' x 80'. I know this is big, but I've learned that to stay in good graces with Christ, you have to do what He tells you to do. Once I start taking the lead and not stay in His footsteps, everything will go down the drain.

Something To Think About
From Bill's Desk

Here in Africa it seams that the prince of the air is a lot bolder than at home, or maybe he just has more places to hide at home, what with all the stuff we have. At home maybe we don't understand the power and cunningness he commands. We go along with life just like we have no power to change anything he does, WRONG!!!! By the BLOOD of our Savior Jesus, we control him, he has no choice but to run when we tell him using the blood of Christ, if it is applied with faith and sincerity.

There is a book by T.D. Jakes called

Overcoming the Enemy

The Spiritual Warfare of the Believer.

I strongly recommend that ya'l read it.

I found it on my amazonkindle. I have read several of his books and have found them very helpful.

Boy Sunday

Wednesday 28 Sept. This afternoon I had a young boy ten years old come asking me to help with uniform pants so he could go to school, he had the shirt.

Now, our experience with Sunday has been up and down. He is always hungry even thou he lives with his grandma who doesn't care how he exists. Sunday is just about a street kid. I've been trying to speak life into him. Of course I fed him part of what we were going to have for supper, and sent him to the market to get some paraffin for the lantern. He will bring it and I will give him 1,000 shillings ($.36) for going. Yes I will help him with the uniform pants, they will cost about 8000/- to 10,000/- ($2.88 to $3.60). Now this doesn't seem like a lot but it is. Those same pants a year ago would have cost between 3 and 5,000/- ($2.80 -$3.50). Inflation right now is very bad. Yes, we get more shillings for the dollar, but the prices have surpassed the difference.

Update:
Sunday told me when he brought the paraffin that his grandmother died two weeks ago, he sleeps on a veranda in the business part of town. Now he is a street kid. At this point I do not feel that I can provide Sunday with a place to stay, which is why it is important that we start building the cottages for the children. Unless something happens that we have the funds that will have to wait.

Friday 30th:
Yesterday I went with Sunday to the school he claimed to be going to, the head teacher told us (Sunday and myself) that he has only been in school off and on over the past term maybe 6 or 8 days. I learned many things regarding Sunday and his family some of which in the states would put the parent in jail. He does have a mother and father that live maybe 90 miles from here. The dad wants nothing to do with the boy, (very common here in Africa) not sure about the mother, but Sunday considers her dead. Please pray for Sunday and the many street kids in Moroto Town.

This Hurts!

I have decided to temporally stop the mobile medical clinic because we do not have the transport needed, and the cost of the drugs. It takes two chests of supplies to hold the clinic. We now use between three and five border-border's (motor cycles where we ride behind the driver) to carry everything needed to provide the service. We will help anyone that comes to the house at night or on weekends until they can get to the hospital during the week. I will also carry some drugs along to church to help where I can. Please pray that the Lord will provide according to His will.

Announcement:

I will be arriving in San Antonio at 6pm on the 11th of December. This will be my first Christmas at home in four years.
